Biology tutor for GCSE, AS - level and A - level

I am a Biomedical Science undergraduate at the University of Manchester with a strong academic background in biology. As the first student in four years at my sixth form to achieve an A* in A-level Biology, I understand how challenging exam preparation can feel without the right support. I aim to provide clear guidance and encouragement to students of all academic abilities while helping them genuinely enjoy biology.
Through my degree, I have developed a strong understanding of complex biological concepts and how they can be explained clearly and accessibly to GCSE and A-level students. Biology mark schemes often have a reputation for being confusing and overly specific, which can make exam questions feel frustrating. I aim to help students understand what examiners are looking for, break down mark schemes clearly, and approach exam questions with confidence so they can pick up as many marks as possible.
I also have two years of experience working with secondary school students through a student mediation programme. In this role, I supported students in resolving conflicts, improving communication, and navigating challenging situations. This experience strengthened my ability to build trust with students, listen carefully, and communicate in a calm and supportive way.
I am able to create a tutoring environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities. Sessions focus on breaking down difficult topics using clear explanations, diagrams, and exam-style questions, while adapting to each student’s pace and learning style.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to strengthen their understanding of biology, build confidence in tackling exam questions, and develop a interest in the subject.
