Your first lesson
We'll start by talking about the music you love and where you want to get to, whether that's strumming your favourite songs, improvising over a jam or writing your own music. I'll hear where you are now and plan our lessons around that. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Your first lesson
We'll start by talking about the music you love and where you want to get to, whether that's strumming your favourite songs, improvising over a jam or writing your own music. I'll hear where you are now and plan our lessons around that. Complete beginners are very welcome.
A typical lesson
Warm-up and check-in: a quick warm-up and a look at what you've practised since last time.
New skill: one focused technique or idea, such as a chord shape, a strumming pattern, fingerpicking or a scale. I explain it simply and show you why it works.
Put it into music: we use the new skill straight away in a song you like, so it never feels like a dry exercise.
Ear and theory: I treat theory as patterns and numbers on the fretboard, which makes it click quickly. We'll also break down songs to see what makes them sound good and train your ear to pick out chords and melodies.
Jam: we finish by playing together over a backing track so you get comfortable playing with others and finding your own sound.
Practice plan: you leave with a few clear things to work on before next time.
Going further
If you're keen, we can explore songwriting, layering guitar parts, and recording and producing your ideas in Logic Pro.
My experience
I've played guitar for nine years and performed live for six. I co-founded a jam band at the University of Bath and later played lead guitar in Dogs on Smoke, winners of the University's Battle of the Bands, at events including the 2026 Summer Ball. I'm self-taught, so I know the learning process from the inside, and I'll help you build your own way of learning rather than just copying mine.
Lessons are online or in person in London, in English or Thai.
