I use a combination of games, lectures, books, humor, movies, and pop culture to make the information relevant to my students. I've been teaching children and adults alike since 2001 and do my best to incorporate each individual's passions into my lessons. If students enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, comic books, or cooking, introducing a difficult language like English to them using familiar words and ideas helps. In addition, I love playing games and keeping the lessons fast and light-hearted. While vocabulary drills, diction lessons, and grammar are all important, they can also be boring. There is no need to write lines or memorize index cards when websites like Quizziz or Quizlet exist and are WAY more fun. Overall I try not to be too serious but also ensure that my students are satisfied with the experience.
