My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I teach online on a one-to-one basis, working with students from KS3, GCSE, and A-Level Mathematics.
I believe that lasting success in mathematics comes from genuine understanding rather than memorising procedures. For this reason, I focus on developing intuitive conceptual understanding through clear explanations, visual methods, and carefully chosen examples. Students are encouraged to explain their thinking, ask questions, and actively engage with the material throughout the lesson.
Lessons are adapted to each student's goals and current level of understanding. This may involve building confidence with core skills, addressing misconceptions, preparing for examinations, or working towards top grades. I use a mastery-based approach, ensuring that key concepts are thoroughly understood before moving on to more advanced topics.
Where appropriate, I incorporate problem-solving activities and alternative ways of visualising mathematical ideas to help students connect abstract concepts to practical situations. My training in teaching mathematics through chess has also strengthened my ability to develop logical reasoning and analytical thinking in an engaging way.
My lessons are delivered online on a one-to-one basis using a pen tablet and digital whiteboard, allowing students to see solutions worked through step-by-step in real time, just as they would in a traditional classroom environment.
At the end of each lesson, students leave with a clear understanding of what has been covered, areas for further practice, and the next steps in their learning. My aim is not only to improve grades, but also to help students become confident, independent mathematical thinkers.
