Advert description
I am a First Class Honours graduate, incoming BSc Mathematics student, and experienced mathematics tutor with over 6 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I provide structured online 1-to-1 tuition for KS3, GCSE, and A-Level students, helping learners develop confidence, understanding, and strong examination performance.
My teaching approach focuses on building intuitive conceptual understanding through visual methods, clear explanations, and mastery techniques that promote long-term retention rather than short-term memorisation. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs, whether they require support with core topics, exam preparation, or achieving the highest grades.
Alongside private tuition, I have over 2 years of school-based teaching experience and have completed the first stage of a Secondary Mathematics PGCE, gaining practical classroom experience and training in effective teaching methods. I also completed a 20-week full-time Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) course in Mathematics at the University of Sussex, covering curriculum content from KS3 through to A-Level.
My academic background includes a Grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics, an A in AS Mathematics and Further Mathematics, and a First Class Honours degree. I am also certified by the European Chess Union (ECU) and ChessPlus to use chess as a practical tool for teaching mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In addition, I hold a professional CELTA qualification, providing advanced training in communication and explanation. My goal is to make mathematics accessible, engaging, and understandable for every student while helping them achieve their academic potential.
