I have achieved top of Durham's Philosophy cohort and achieved 4x A* at A-Level.

My teaching style depends on the student's situation, namely proximity to exam and their level of knowledge. For those with less knowledge on a particular topic, I focus on teaching them by making Quizlets with them and selectively teaching them what will make their essays stand out to markers who have been reading the same thing all day. For those who have the knowledge but can't seem to convert it into marks, I focus on structure. To excel in essay subjects, the focus is on answering the question. This sounds simple, and I have learnt that it is. I teach my students how to write in a way that answers the question. I teach the content in a way that allows students to convert it into A* level answers, focusing on providing nuanced points and tailoring to any question the exam board can ask.

For students with coursework, I am willing to edit and provide very detailed analysis. I have experience editing coursework and have recently helped two History A-Level candidates achieve +10 and +12 marks respectively on their predicted grades.

Teaching runs in my family, both of my parents and my grandmother are teachers, and I have inherited a genuine enjoyment of helping others learn. What motivates me most as a tutor is the opportunity to share not only knowledge, but also the confidence and study habits that allow students to succeed. Having benefited from excellent teaching and mentorship myself, I am eager to pass that support on to others and help students achieve more than they thought possible.
