My lessons are designed to open the door to the richness of French language, literature, culture, and history. As a graduate in Comparative Literature and French, I bring both academic expertise and practical teaching experience to every session. Having studied for a year at the Université de Montréal, immersed in francophone cultures and language, I gained first-hand insight into the diversity and vibrancy of French-speaking communities. This background allows me to offer students not only linguistic skills but also cultural awareness, which is essential for mastering a language.
In our lessons, we focus on building strong foundations in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, while also exploring literature and cultural texts that bring the language to life. I believe that learning French should be both rigorous and enjoyable, so I integrate history, art, and cultural references to make lessons dynamic and meaningful. For beginner speakers, I draw on my experience teaching French and English in Montréal, where I learned how to guide learners step by step, encouraging confidence and fluency from the very start.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual student. Following AQA or other curriculum guidelines, I adapt materials to suit specific skill sets and address areas of weakness. Whether preparing for exams, improving conversational ability, or deepening cultural knowledge, I ensure that lessons are structured, clear, and responsive to student needs.
We like to combine practical exercises with creative exploration: reading short literary passages, discussing cultural traditions, and practicing everyday dialogues. This balance helps students not only achieve academic success but also develop a genuine appreciation for French as a living language. My goal is to inspire learners to see French not just as a subject, but as a gateway to understanding history, culture, and human expression.
I look forward to meeting you :)!
