I have experience as a first year mentor while at unviersity and as a Year 5 teacher's assistant during my one-month placement.
Dyanmics of the lessons will consist of asking a lot of Why questions as that is what makes a historian's brain tick. We'll look at sources and consider why they are useful and what evidence can help back that up. We'll think of reasons for and against and, again, why those points makes strong for and against arguments.
We'll work with the evidence and precise detail in a way that can be best remembered and recalled for you. We'll associate the evidence with different things, we'll minimise it so it isn't so overwhelming and complicated. We'll tackle the basics of the informtion before encountering the complex side.
We may even investigate why history isn't particularly interesting or exciting as other subjects. We can come up with ways to enjoy it more, or even to deal with it until it's over.
