*What My Lessons Are Like*
My lessons are personalised, engaging, and built entirely around you — your goals, your learning style, and your pace.
*Format and Structure:*
Every lesson is a structured one-to-one session, typically 60 to 90 minutes, delivered online with full interaction. No two lessons are the same because no two students are the same. Each session begins with a clear learning objective and a quick review of previous progress. We then move into the core focus of the day, which could be skill-building, text analysis, or guided writing practice. I use shared Google Docs, annotated exam papers, model answers, and interactive whiteboards so you are actively doing, not just listening. Every lesson ends with clear, constructive feedback and a short, targeted task to help you consolidate what you have learned.
*Content and Dynamics:*
My teaching is collaborative and encouraging. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, so I create a patient, positive, and non-judgmental environment.
For *GCSE English Language*, we focus on mastering exam technique to secure top grades. This includes in-depth analysis of unseen fiction and non-fiction texts for Paper 1 and Paper 2, developing strategies for language, structure, and evaluation questions, and crafting high-scoring creative and transactional writing with accuracy and flair.
For *A-Level English Language*, we tackle the subject with academic rigour but in an accessible way. We cover all key frameworks for textual analysis, Child Language Acquisition, Language Change and Diversity, Discourse, and original writing. A major focus is on developing your NEA coursework and writing sophisticated, critical essays that meet A-Level assessment objectives.
*My Experience:*
I have extensive experience supporting students from Year 10 to Year 13, helping them move from struggling with confidence to achieving grades 7-9 at GCSE and A/B at A-Level. I understand exactly where students lose marks and, more importantly, how to help them gain them quickly. I am not just passionate about English — I am passionate about your progress, and I adapt every lesson to ensure you leave feeling more confident and capable than when we started.
