I pride myself on keeping learning active and progressive, with space to discuss topics in great depth. I'll make my approach to teaching you as tailored as you need, whether that's exam questions practice, revision over key topics in your syllabus or a project that interests you that you'd like to expand on.
I utilise the different approaches to learning I have encountered throughout my educational journey, from discussion, debate, presentation, guided practice and student-led exercises. I believe a variety of approaches helps create academic autonomy in students and maintains attention on the material being taught. Everyone has different approaches, so understanding what kind of topics and tasks you want to complete is up to you as the student.
I have been successful in History, achieving an A* at A-level and Grade 7 at GCSE, but I used to get C's in my A-level mocks, so what changed? I always had a passion for the subject, but passion didn't guarantee high marks; precision and well-structured arguments do. I can help teach you from being someone who knows facts to someone who can communicate them in lines of argument built to gain marks and communicate your understanding to teachers and examiners. I have managed to achieve GCSE Grade 8 in Physical Education, Grade 8/7 Combined Science and Grade 7s in Drama, Religious Studies, and Maths.
I have recently returned from a placement at a Senior School as a graduate teaching assistant, which provided me with experience of covering lessons as well as leading extracurricular and even revision support for GCSE students.
I look forward to working with you toward success in the upcoming academic year.
