I am currently a Year 13 student studying Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science and Psychology at A Level and am looking to study a joint Computer Science and Mathematics degree at university.
My passion for Mathematics has been present ever since a very young age, and therefore sharing my knowledge and understanding with younger children excites me. I have nearly two years of experience working with younger children both at tutoring centres and at primary school. In my tutoring experience, I would work through questions with small groups of children of varying ages (Year 1 - Year 9) and explain concepts they found difficult to understand. At my work experience at a primary school, I worked with Year 5s during their assessment week and specifically worked with SEND children to read out and work through questions.
In terms of my education, I attend a selective grammar school, and therefore have experience for preparing for the SET (11+) and have also received grade 9s in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at GCSE. I have also been predicted A* in both those subjects for A Level as well - so the student is in great hands!
My sessions will be tailored to the student's current strengths and weaknesses and will follow along the national curriculum. They will be online, and will consist of both going through any questions the student has found themselves, whether it be through their own revision or from school, that they are struggling to understand as well as teaching new concepts and work through practice questions. After all, the key to Mathematics is practice and repetition!
