I am an experienced secondary school Maths teacher with 15 years of experience teaching GCSE Mathematics. I have extensive experience supporting students with different abilities, confidence levels and learning needs, and I understand the demands of GCSE examinations.

My tutoring approach is based on a simple but effective teaching sequence: “I do, We do, You do.”

First, I demonstrate the method clearly, breaking each concept down into manageable steps and explaining not only what to do, but why it works. I then move to “We do”, where we work through similar questions together. I use questioning and discussion to identify misconceptions, develop mathematical reasoning and build confidence. Finally, in “You do”, the student applies the method independently, allowing me to assess their understanding and identify any areas that need further practice.

My lessons are structured, focused and tailored to the individual student. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them. Rather than simply providing answers, I help students develop the skills and confidence to approach unfamiliar problems independently.
