I am a native-level speaker with 17 years of teaching experience in a variety of countries (Italy, Colombia, Vietnam, Greece and the USA), and all ages (4 to adult) and competency levels (A1-C2). The structure of my classes depends highly on the needs and abilities of my students and thus I try to adapt them to my students' objectives and learning styles. Some classes are more discussion based, others more grammar or listening based. I teach general English, academic English, conversational English, business English, and exam preparation. In my classes I use a variety of resources such as videos, audio texts, books, magazines, news websites, whatever works best in order to achieve the class objective. I am always happy to discuss the class structure with my students, to find out what their goals are, and which learning style suits them best. My classes are generally relaxed and informal as I find that this is the best way to create rapport with students. At the end of the class I do a quick review of the target language or phrases used, to ensure that the student(s) have absorbed this information thoroughly. In group classes I encourage participation and interaction by everyone. I believe that one of the most important qualities a teacher should have is patience, and I make it a point to exercise this in all my classes as it creates an enjoyable and effective teaching experience. Finally, I am willing to teach 30-minute, 45-minute, 60-minute and 90-minute classes.
