I am entirely new to the lecturing side of this but I am used to being the student. I have a first class honours degree in Biomedical Science and a Master's degree with distinction in Infection Biology, but I'll be completely honest I only got B in higher human biology but that's because I didn't know how to study. My teaching style will vary between students based on what I think is the right style for you. My main goal is to help you realise your own potential and get the grade you deserve.
Memorisation is not the key to success, understanding the material is much more advantageous. Therefore, I personally think essays are a really good way of displaying your knowledge and they can be looked back over for revision. I really appreciate getting feedback on a piece of work so I think weekly short essays on a topic is a great way to learn and particularly helpful if you are going on to study biology at university as you will have to write a plethora of essays. Before lessons it is a good idea to inform me if you are struggling with anything that week so we can work on it in our session.
Lessons can take place either online or in person, entirely up to you and I would recommend at least 1 hour sessions a week but possibly more when exam times approach. My emails will always be open and I will respond as quickly as possible. I look forward to hearing from you.
