My lessons are tailored to each individual student rather than following a single approach. We start by figuring out exactly where the gap is, whether it's a shaky foundation from earlier years or just a tricky topic, and build from there. I specialise in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Economics.

Sessions will involve explanations with active problem-solving. My aim is to have students actively see the concepts being applied in the problems they approach and have them build the confidence to tackle unfamiliar ones independently.

Lessons combine clear explanations with active problem solving, breaking down every topic to its fundamental principles to help students build a genuine understanding rather than relying on memorisation or assumed prior knowledge. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson, as I believe curiosity and understanding are more valuable than simply achieving the correct answer. My role is to create an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, as these often provide the best opportunities for learning.

Alongside mastering theory, there will be focus on past-paper style questions and exam board mark schemes, because the application of theory is a different skill to simply knowing it. Students can expect worked examples, guided practice, and an emphasis on understanding the reasons behind concepts and mechanisms.

I am currently a chemical engineering student at the University of Leeds, and I came into university without an A-Level chemistry background so I know firsthand what it's like to build technical understanding from scratch under pressure. That experience directly shapes how I teach: patient, supportive, and focused on building lasting understanding while developing strong exam techniques.
