Hi! My name is Nahel. I'm French and Tunisian. I was born and raised in Lyon, France. I have been tutoring since 2017, first to children aged 6 to 10, and currently to anyone that wants and needs it!
Learning English opened up so many doors for me! I like to encourage my students to speak during my lessons - pronunciation and speed should not be a barrier making you feel discouraged, but rather, these should just be obstacles to overcome like any other ! I promote getting a good grasp of the two, instead of solely focusing on expanding vocabulary, as feeling comfortable in a language can lead to speaking it more confidently and being able to use it to talk about yourself, others and the world around you - specifically, things that matter to you. After all, isn't this what most of us want?
I believe that with the right mindset, and motivation anyone can learn a language. During my lessons, which I customise to each student, I focus on having students participate and engage in a proactive way regardless of their level. Building confidence, consistency, and resilience as well as a deeper cultural sensibility through a comprehensive understanding of linguistic rules to use them to your advantage and in situations that apply to you is the key to successful language learning.
Of course, I myself am deeply passionate about languages - I am a native French speaker, bilingual in English (Cambridge certified) and am currently learning Arabic and Gaelic. I have refined my understanding of learning methods for myself over the years and I take my approach into my teaching while tailoring it to each of my students. I'm of the opinion that a targetted, encouraging approach is the best approach!
