Hi! I'm an experienced Science teacher and private tutor with a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Environmental Management with Climate Change. I currently teach BTEC Level 3 Applied Science and offer tuition in KS3 and GCSE Science and Maths, A-Level Chemistry and BTEC Applied Science.

I always start by getting to know my students. I like to learn about their interests, experiences at school, what they enjoy and what they find challenging. Building a good relationship is important to me because I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

My lessons are relaxed but structured. I usually begin by assessing what a student already understands and identifying any gaps in their knowledge. From there, I tailor lessons to their individual needs, breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps.

I don't believe in simply talking at students for an hour. My lessons are interactive, with plenty of discussion, practice and opportunities to ask questions. We might work through scientific calculations, explore challenging concepts or tackle exam-style questions together.

As a classroom teacher, I understand the importance of developing exam technique, problem-solving skills and the ability to apply knowledge to unfamiliar questions.

I'm patient, approachable and happy to explain things differently until they make sense. I also regularly check understanding rather than assuming students have grasped something.

Ultimately, I want my students to improve their grades, build confidence and become independent learners who genuinely understand what they're doing.
