Muhammad Ather Rafi

I would like to introduce myself as a Professor/Researcher with a PhD in Zoology (Entomology) and over 32 years of rich experience with the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), the apex body for agricultural research in Pakistan. I have served Women University Swabi, Swabi Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan in various capacities such as Professor/Chairperson of Zoology Department, In-Charge Faculty: Arts and Humanities, Director QEC, and Director of Academics.

I have extensive experience across all academics, project management, and collaborative initiatives on biosystematics, biodiversity & integrated pest and biogeography. I can teach courses with a whole-hearted and engaging style. I have mentored and supervised research work done by 50 students for their PhD, M.Phil & BSc. (Honors) Degrees from various universities in Pakistan. t and co-authored more than 120 research publications. In addition, I have authored/co-authored 6 books, 1 book chapter, 1 monograph, and 6 scientific reports

My experience includes all aspects of project management, including development of project proposals, project planning, financial management & project execution. I also worked as co-chair of the South Asian Invertebrate Specialist Group of the IUCN Species Survival Commission from 2009 to date. As a visitor to the USA (Multiple visits), Canada, the Middle East, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Tajikistan, and Central Europe. I have received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2025 from the Zoological Society of Pakistan
