My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I believe that every student can succeed in Maths with the right guidance and encouragement, and my goal is to build both confidence and competence in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.

My Approach

I start by assessing each student's current level, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement. From there, I create a personalised learning plan that focuses on the topics they find most challenging. Whether it's algebra, geometry, fractions, or exam technique, I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps. I use plenty of worked examples, guided practice, and regular progress checks to ensure understanding before moving on.

Lesson Format

Sessions are typically 1 hour long and follow a structured but flexible format:

Warm-up (5–10 mins): Quick recap of previous learning to reinforce retention.

Main Topic (30–40 mins): Focused teaching on a specific topic, with clear explanations and worked examples.

Practice (10–15 mins): Guided practice where the student works through problems with my support.

Plenary (5 mins): Summary of key learning and setting of optional homework if desired.

My Experience

I hold a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths and am currently studying BSc Accounting and Finance at Queen Mary University of London, where I use numerical and analytical skills daily. My experience as a Tesco colleague has sharpened my communication and problem-solving abilities, while my volunteer work at BJCK in Kuala Lumpur taught me how to engage with young learners, be patient, and adapt to different personalities and learning styles. I also participated in the Common Purpose Global Leadership Programme, where I planned and led activities for children, strengthening my ability to explain ideas clearly and keep students motivated.

Who My Lessons Are For

My lessons are aimed at school students aged 11–16 who want to improve their Maths skills, build confidence, or prepare for exams (including GCSEs and SATs). I am happy to support students preparing for their 11+ exams, those struggling with specific topics, or those aiming for a top grade.
