Hi there! I'm Mirei, and I'm here to help you take your first steps in learning Japanese in a relaxed, fun, and friendly environment.

I spent my early childhood in the UK, then moved to Japan, where I received local Japanese education from elementary school through university. Currently, I’m studying as an exchange student at a university in the UK. Thanks to this background, I’m fluent in both Japanese and English, and I feel comfortable navigating between the two cultures and languages. If you’re just starting out with Japanese and feel nervous, don’t worry—I’m happy to support you using English whenever needed.

While I don't have formal experience teaching Japanese yet, I worked as an English instructor in Japan, teaching students from elementary to high school. Through that experience, I developed a strong sense of how to support learners of all levels, and I truly enjoy helping people grow in their language skills. Now, I’m excited to support learners of Japanese in the same way!

My lessons are ideal for beginners or those who want to try Japanese casually at first. Whether you want to start by learning hiragana and katakana, or just want to try speaking some simple phrases, I’m here to guide you at your own pace. You don’t need to worry if you’ve never studied Japanese before—let’s take it step by step together!

I also believe that everyone learns differently, so I’ll work with you to find the most comfortable and effective lesson style for you. Whether you prefer conversation, visual materials, or learning through cultural topics like anime or food, I’ll adjust our lessons to suit your interests and goals.
