WHY I WOULD BE A STRONG CANDIDATE
My combination of extensive teaching experience, strong academic ability and genuine enthusiasm for working with children makes me a strong candidate for an online primary teaching role.
Having taught full classes from Year 1 through to Year 7 for four years, I am comfortable working with children at different developmental stages. I understand that effective teaching is not simply about knowing the subject; pupils also need to feel supported, listened to and encouraged.
My two years of 11+ tutoring have strengthened my ability to individualise teaching. Every pupil learns differently, and I am confident identifying where a child may be struggling, adapting my explanation and finding alternative ways to communicate an idea until they understand it.
I also have a strong academic background, with Grade 9s and 8s at GCSE, an A* in Psychology, and my current MPharm degree at King’s College London, which is predicted at First-Class level. This has given me excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills that I can bring into my teaching.
I understand that online teaching requires teachers to work particularly hard to maintain pupils’ attention and participation. I would use questioning, discussion, encouragement and varied activities to ensure that pupils remain actively involved rather than simply listening to a lesson.
I am highly organised, reliable and responsible, having balanced the demands of a challenging university degree alongside several years of teaching and tutoring. I would bring the same level of preparation, professionalism and commitment to every lesson.
Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy teaching. I find it extremely rewarding to see a pupil who initially lacks confidence begin to understand a difficult topic and become more willing to participate. I would aim to make every online lesson engaging, supportive and academically valuable, while helping each pupil develop the confidence and skills they need to reach their potential.
