After a small chat about your goals and what you’d hope to achieve from tuition, we would go through and find any weaker areas in the curriculum that requires further learning so that you completely understand the concepts necessary. Beyond this, these lessons can be used to supplement in class learning to ensure that you have a complete grasp on the work you are doing. Exam style questions will help you to discuss the topics in concise ways especially if you are aiming for the higher grades. While I am new to tutoring, I am working through the curriculum myself to ensure I have materials to help you within your learning. Additionally, this is helping me to ensure I have a strong way of explaining everything so that I can help you in a clear way.

Outside of any tuition and in class learning, it would be beneficial to students to do active recall exercises to be able to commit the knowledge to long term memory. While these sessions will be linear within the curriculum, a lot of information from previous topics is necessary to form a strong foundation within your learning.

I would hope for open communication with students to ensure that they can speak up freely if they aren’t understanding things the way I am explaining them so that we can ensure that everything is well understood. Furthermore, I am always looking to improve and so your feedback is integral to both of our development.

I want to help my students become the best versions of themselves, especially within chemistry, and I hope that with my help and motivation to keep going, you will achieve amazing things!
