My teaching approach is based on one simple idea: every student is different, so every lesson should be adapted to their needs, level and personal goals. I believe that learning a language should be a positive and enjoyable experience, rather than something stressful or overly academic. For this reason, I would first try to understand what each student wants to achieve and what they find most difficult, and then build the lessons around them.

For beginners, I would focus on creating a strong foundation in Italian, introducing basic vocabulary, useful expressions and simple grammar in a clear and accessible way. I would also encourage students to start speaking Italian from the very beginning, even if they only know a few words. I believe that making mistakes is a natural and important part of learning a language, so I would create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable trying, asking questions and improving step by step.

For intermediate and advanced students, I would place more emphasis on conversation and communication. Depending on their interests, we could discuss everyday life, travel, Italian culture, current topics, films, music or other subjects they enjoy. This would allow students to expand their vocabulary and improve their confidence while using Italian in realistic situations. I would also help them improve their grammar and pronunciation whenever necessary, without making the lessons feel too theoretical.

I would adapt the structure of each lesson depending on the student. Some students may prefer a more structured approach, with specific grammar and vocabulary exercises, while others may learn better through conversation and practical activities. I am happy to combine different methods and change the approach when needed. My goal is not simply to teach Italian, but to find the way of learning that works best for each individual.

I would also encourage students to share their personal interests and goals with me. For example, someone learning Italian for travel may want to focus on useful phrases and everyday conversations, while someone preparing to move to Italy may need more practical vocabulary and confidence in speaking. A student interested in Italian culture might prefer lessons based on films, food, traditions or current events. By connecting the language to topics that students genuinely enjoy, I believe learning becomes much more motivating and memorable.

As a native Italian speaker, I can also help students understand the language as it is actually used in everyday life, including common expressions and natural ways of communicating. I would try to give students not only the correct Italian, but also the confidence to use it in real conversations.

Most importantly, I want my lessons to be friendly, flexible and encouraging. I would like students to feel that they can learn at their own pace and that their lessons are a space where they can practise without being afraid of making mistakes. I am patient and open to adapting my teaching style according to feedback and progress.

Ultimately, my aim is to help students become more confident and comfortable with Italian, while making the learning process enjoyable. Whether they are complete beginners or already fluent and simply want to practise, I would tailor the lessons to their individual needs and make sure that each session is useful, engaging and relevant to their personal goals.
