My teaching style is centred around creating a relaxed, supportive, and engaging environment where learning feels enjoyable rather than stressful. With over a year of experience teaching History, English Literature, and Religious Studies to GCSE and A-Level students, I understand that every learner is different, so I take a flexible and personalised approach to each lesson.
I believe confidence is key to success, so my first priority is helping students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their own strengths. Whether through visual resources, interactive discussion, close textual analysis, source work, or debate, I aim to make each subject feel accessible, engaging, and relevant.
I see lessons as a collaborative process, where we work through ideas and challenges together, building understanding step by step. I encourage students to think critically about texts, historical events, philosophical arguments, and differing interpretations, helping them develop not only strong subject knowledge but also the analytical skills needed for top exam answers.
A major focus of my teaching is essay planning and exam technique. I help students structure ideas clearly, build strong arguments, analyse evidence effectively, and develop the writing skills examiners are looking for. My aim is to make learning enjoyable, inclusive, and confidence-boosting, helping every student reach their full potential while also developing a genuine enjoyment of the subjects they study.
Having recently completed my own degree, I also understand the pressures students face and the importance of building both confidence and independence. I aim to create lessons that feel approachable and encouraging, while still challenging students to think deeply, develop strong judgement and analytical skills, and achieve the very best results they can.
