As a Biochemistry undergraduate at Imperial College London and an IB graduate with a score of 45/45, I understand the challenges of studying Biology and Chemistry, and the strategies needed to excel in examinations. My lessons focus on building a deep understanding of biological concepts rather than memorising facts. I explain material using clear verbal explanations, diagrams, annotations, and notes to help students understand and retain key ideas. I also emphasise making connections between topics and across scientific disciplines, allowing students to apply their knowledge confidently in unfamiliar contexts. A strong focus of my teaching is exam preparation. Lessons include regular problem-solving exercises, exam-style questions, and past-paper practice to develop analytical skills and exam technique. Students are encouraged to attempt questions independently before we review them together, helping them build confidence, identify areas for improvement, and develop useful study habits. To ensure students are fully prepared for their assessments, I also provide timed mock examinations and detailed feedback, allowing them to practise under exam conditions and track their progress over time.
