I have over 2 years experience with tutoring both in-person and remote. I have taught a range of ages (13-18) but definitely don't descriminate against any other age! I believe everyone is accountable and entitled to their own learning and I am willing to help regardless. Similarly, I will never judge or neglect anyone based on their background. I am honest, communicative, and I like to believe inspiring. I care about my students' learning beyond a certain goal or qualification, as learning should never be restricted.
My lessons usually go somewhat like this, though I am more than willing to construct and adapt the lesson plan based on the student's needs:
- few minutes of catch up/ assessing how the student feels so far with the syllabus
- going over homework from last week and addressing queries
- diving into a new topic and introducing the basics
- following up with classwork to implement and further understand new material
- complete with addressing remaining questions & setting new homework if my student feels comfortable with it
Overall, I don't like to implement disciplnary or unequal dynamics and I take each student's individual journey and needs seriously. For that reason, I welcome anyone who needs specific help on a subject or aims towards a certain qualification, but also anyone who wants to further explore their own learning, reading, conversation and more!
I would also like to note that if a certain student struggles financially, we can look into a sliding scale in pricing.
