I am a qualified primary teacher with five years of experience tutoring English, and I am passionate about helping every learner develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of learning. My experience as both a teacher and tutor has allowed me to work with pupils with a range of abilities, learning styles and individual needs.
My lessons are friendly, supportive and engaging, while still having a clear structure and purpose. I take time to get to know each learner, understand their strengths and identify the areas where they need additional support. I then tailor my lessons to suit their individual needs and goals rather than using the same approach for every pupil.
When teaching English, I can support learners with reading, writing, spelling, grammar, vocabulary and comprehension. I use a variety of teaching methods, including clear explanations, modelling, guided practice, questioning, discussion and independent activities. I also use games and interactive tasks where appropriate to keep lessons enjoyable and encourage active participation.
As a qualified primary teacher, I understand the importance of building strong foundations and breaking learning into manageable steps. I regularly check understanding throughout lessons and adapt my teaching when necessary. I believe that positive encouragement and constructive feedback are essential in helping pupils recognise their progress and become more confident, independent learners.
My teaching style is patient, approachable and encouraging. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where pupils feel able to ask questions, make mistakes and learn from them without feeling pressured. Most importantly, I want each learner to leave our lessons feeling that they have achieved something and are more confident in their abilities than when they started.
