Manon Atangana

I am a native French speaker, former French and Spanish teacher looking to use my expertise to support students in improving their language skills and achieving great results. I can support with French and Spanish learning as well as exam preparation for French GCSE and A Level. I taught French to A Level and Spanish at KS3 for four years in an inner London school, two of those years as Head of French. I have experience in planning and teaching a high-quality and progressive curriculum for French, from year 7 to year 13. I can also teach French to adults wanting to learn the language.

I can also teach English as a Foreign Language. I have a degree in English studies and worked in an English Summer school in Cambridge teaching English as a Second Language. I can teach adults or younger students.

I have a great understanding of students' needs and know to tailor my teaching to the students. It starts with assessing the students' strengths and weaknesses in order to plan lessons accordingly. I like each lesson to be purposeful with a clear focus for the day. Encouragement, challenge and feedback are key aspects of my teaching practice. More importantly I believe that building a positive and trusting rapport is key to ensure students feel confident to complete the work and ask questions. Through my experiences I have gained techniques to develop students' speaking, reading, listening and writing skills and I look forward to sharing them with new students!
