Maisy Cartlidge

I love teaching English, and I have recently decided to specialise in Secondary and SEN teaching. I am happy to take on any GCSE or A-level students, as well as SEN primary students. I've worked with a variety of learners: adult learners, SEN students, English as a second language students, and everything in between.

I believe in a guided practice approach. My lessons are tailored to each student, and I believe that every student deserves an individualised learning plan to achieve their full potential. I work closely with students and parents to help them achieve their goals. I have also worked with students who needed a combined approach, meaning I communicated with other tutors or teachers they were working with to ensure a complete education.

I love English and have a passion for teaching. I aim to bring that enthusiasm into every lesson and get my students interested in English regardless of their grades.

My lessons take place online. I follow students' interests and needs to ensure they complete their curriculum and achieve their goals without losing interest in the subject. I use a combination of guided and independent activities, combined with independent homework activities where appropriate and realistic. You will never feel pressure or guilt in my lessons, and I will do everything I can to build your confidence, as this is a core factor in both exam performance and wellbeing.
