My lessons are online, in-person or I commute and focused on helping students understand maths in a simple and clear way. I mainly help students with algebra and other maths topics that many students find confusing. During the lesson, I explain problems step by step so the student can see how the answer is found, not just memorise it.
I like to make lessons calm and comfortable so students do not feel afraid to ask questions. If a student does not understand something, I will explain it again in a different way until it becomes clearer. I believe patience is very important when teaching maths because every student learns at a different pace.
In my lessons we will usually start by looking at the topic the student needs help with. I will explain the concept first and then we will practise questions together. After that, I will let the student try some questions on their own while I guide them if they need help. This helps students become more confident solving problems by themselves.
I focus especially on algebra topics such as solving equations, rearranging formulas, substitution, and understanding how mathematical steps work. These are common topics students struggle with in secondary school.
My goal is to help students feel more confident in maths and improve their understanding. I want students to feel proud when they solve problems and realise that maths can become easier with practice and clear explanations.
Even though English is not my first language, I communicate clearly and always try to make my explanations simple and easy to follow.
