Every lesson I plan is personalised to the individual student in front of me. I begin by identifying learning gaps and understanding where a student feels confident versus where they struggle. From there, I break difficult topics down into simple, manageable steps, using clear explanations, modelling, guided practice and independent questions to build genuine understanding rather than surface-level memorisation. I regularly assess progress throughout each lesson and adjust my approach in real time based on how a student is responding.
Alongside core subject t utoring, I support GCSE exam preparation, Functional Skills qualifications, homework help and confidence-building. Many of the students I work with come to me feeling overwhelmed or anxious about a subject, and I take real care in adapting both my pace and teaching style so they feel comfortable, capable and willing to ask questions.
Communication with parents is a central part of how I work. I provide regular updates on progress, flag areas that need further attention, and shape future lessons around each student’s ongoing development. Whether a family’s goal is improved grades, focused exam preparation or simply rebuilding a child’s confidence in a subject, I work closely with parents to make sure every session is purposeful and contributes to long-term progress.
I am DBS checked and currently work professionally as a tutor within the UK education sector. My aim with every student is the same: to help them truly understand what they are learning, feel confident asking questions, and grow into a more independent, self-assured learner.
