All of my lessons are fully tailored to you: your level, your goals, and your exam board.
When you first reach out, we will schedule a short online meeting to discuss:
- Your current French Level
- Your exam board (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.)
- Whether you're preparing for the foundation or higher tier
- Your target grade
- What areas you feel least confident. Do you struggle with confidence speaking? Grammar? Diverse vocabulary? I can help!
From there, I'll design a personalized lesson plan based on your needs - whether you're building from the basics or pushing towards that Grade 9.

What's Covered?
I'll help you master the grammar, vocabulary, and topics needed to succeed in GCSE French.
We'll cover the necessary topics aligned to your curriculum, including but not limited to: Describing yourself and others, hobbies, school life, travel and holidays, school and work life, environment.
For foundation students, we'll focus on mastering your use of the Present tense, Perfect tense and Near Future (ALLER + infinitive).
Looking for a higher grade? I can teach you the Imperfect, Simple future, Conditional, and Subjunctive Tenses, as well as more complex opinion structures, phrases, and idiomatic expressions.

Lessons will be online, or, if you live in York, I can come to you!
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but can be adjusted to 45/90 based on your needs.
Combination of exam-based practice and interactive exercises.
Taking your mocks? We can go over your revision strategies and mock grades to figure out how to improve!
Clear explanations with visual tools, and exam tips.
Regular feedback and practice speaking!

Teaching Style and Experience
I achieved a Grade 9 in French GCSE and recently obtained my B2 (Proficient) certificate. I've helped peers and younger students improve their grades and boost their confidence. My approach is friendly, clear, and always adapted to your pace. I have two younger siblings who have just finished or still studying for their French GCSEs, so I have a sound awareness of what current examiners are looking for, the average workload and expectations of secondary-school students, and how to tailor my lessons to be fun to teenagers!
Whether you're aiming to pass with confidence or excel at the top level, I'll help you get there.
