My lessons are relaxed, creative and tailored to the individual student.

I don’t believe every learner should be taught in exactly the same way, so I adapt each session around the student’s interests, confidence level, goals and learning needs. Lessons can be practical and project-based, focused on a specific technique or artist, or structured around coursework, portfolio development or qualification support.

Depending on the student, we may explore drawing, painting, mixed media, art history, artist research, sketchbook development, creative experimentation, composition, colour, personal style and how to develop ideas from initial inspiration through to a finished piece.

For students working towards GCSE, A level or other creative qualifications, I can also support with coursework planning, artist research, annotation, portfolio development, reflection and constructive feedback.

I am an exhibiting artist, experienced tutor and Arts Award adviser and assessor, with extensive experience supporting home-educated learners and young people with a range of learning needs, including SEND.

My aim is to create lessons where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions and developing their own creative voice. I give clear, practical feedback and encouragement while helping each learner become more confident and independent in their work.

I'm happy to work with multiple children within one family as well as home education groups.

I also encourage students to explore artists and techniques beyond their usual comfort zone, helping them discover new ideas and approaches. Sessions can be adapted for complete beginners, confident young artists or students who need focused support with a particular project, portfolio or qualification.
