Luwa Dong

I am an experienced Mandarin teacher with over four years of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. I previously worked full-time in a UK primary school, teaching students aged 3–11, and I am familiar with the UK education system and how to support learners at different stages.

My lessons are carefully structured but always engaging. A typical lesson includes clear language input, guided practice, and interactive activities such as games, visuals, storytelling or role-play, depending on the student’s age and level. I place a strong emphasis on speaking and listening, helping students build confidence and develop accurate pronunciation from the beginning.

For younger learners, lessons are fun, dynamic and age-appropriate, using repetition and positive reinforcement to help children remember new language naturally. For older students or beginners, I focus on practical communication, clear explanations and gradual progress, ensuring students understand how and when to use what they learn.

I offer flexible lesson times and adapt each lesson to individual needs and learning goals. My aim is to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment where students feel confident, motivated and excited to learn Mandarin.
