Hi, I'm Luke — a 4th-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Exeter, on track for a First Class MEng (Hons). I specialise in tutoring Maths, Physics and Computer Science at GCSE and A-Level, and I'm passionate about helping students unlock their potential and build genuine confidence in their subjects.
My lessons are tailored entirely to you. Whether you're struggling with the fundamentals, aiming to push from a B to an A*, or just want to stay ahead of the curve, I adapt my teaching style to suit your learning pace and goals. I focus on building deep understanding, not just exam technique — so that when questions are reworded or extended, you're never caught off guard.
In sessions, we typically begin by identifying gaps or misconceptions, work through concepts with clear explanation and worked examples, then consolidate with practice problems. I make use of past papers and mark schemes to ensure students are fully exam-ready. I'm also happy to set structured work between sessions to keep momentum going.
My experience speaks for itself. I've taught computer programming to groups of children aged 7–13 through FunTech, and went on to tutor students individually online — so I'm equally comfortable in both group and one-to-one settings, in person or virtually. Beyond teaching, my professional background — including a project management internship at Boccard and an insight day at Arup — gives me real-world context to bring STEM subjects to life and show students why what they're learning actually matters.
I achieved A* in both Maths and Physics at A-Level, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for.
