When planning my lessons, I first like to speak to my students so that their learning style is completely catered for and so that I can teach to best meet their needs. Understanding the way that they learn best so that they can achieve the most from the lessons is the most important thing for me. Also speaking to students about areas of low confidence in the subject so that those areas are addressed first and confidence can be built. My sessions are always very interactive and 1 on 1 support helps address issues from the start. Questions are always encouraged as I believe that is the best way to learn! I also believe that constant review of where we have came from is very important to see the journey of the student's learning.
I have been tutoring GCSE and A Level maths, biology and chemistry for 5 years now in multiple different exam boards. I have experience of tutoring students at a range of levels, with all students achieving their goals for university grades or GCSE grades. I am about to start training to become a chemistry secondary teacher and complete my PGCE in September as I have just finished my degree in Medical Sciences from Edinburgh University.
During my lessons, I like to focus on engagement with the student as online tutoring is a great 1-1 tool for allowing students to fully engage and ask questions to improve their knowledge. I believe that tutoring is a powerful tool alongside motivation from students to continuously revise alongside.
