As the founder of Revision Room Education, I provide supportive, engaging and exam-focused online tuition designed to help students improve their grades, develop confidence and feel better prepared for their GCSE examinations.

Having worked in education, I understand that not every student learns in the same way. Some students lack confidence, some struggle to understand particular topics, and others simply need someone to explain things differently. My approach is built around recognising these differences and helping each student find a way forward.

My teaching philosophy

I firmly believe that ability is not fixed and that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. A student who struggles with Maths or Science is not necessarily incapable of achieving a good grade; they may simply need the right explanations, consistent support and the confidence to keep trying.

My lessons focus on breaking complicated topics into manageable steps, revisiting areas of difficulty and developing the skills students need to tackle examination questions independently.

I also place considerable emphasis on exam technique. Understanding a topic is important, but knowing how to apply that knowledge, interpret questions and secure marks is equally valuable. I teach students how to approach different question styles, understand what examiners are looking for and avoid common mistakes.

My experience and background

My professional background includes a degree in Sports Science, postgraduate teacher training in Science and several years of teaching experience.

Alongside my teaching career, I have served in the British Army. This experience has helped shape my approach to leadership, discipline, resilience, teamwork and personal responsibility. I bring these qualities into my work with students, encouraging them to persevere when learning becomes challenging and to take pride in their progress.

As a teacher, I understand the pressures students face throughout secondary school, particularly during Years 10 and 11. GCSE examinations can feel daunting, especially for students who have previously struggled or who lack confidence in their abilities.

My aim is to make learning feel achievable, provide clear direction and help students recognise their own potential.

What does Revision Room Education offer?

Small-group GCSE tuition

Sessions are delivered online, with a maximum of five students per group. This allows students to benefit from a supportive learning environment while still receiving individual attention.

GCSE Maths and Science

Lessons focus on developing subject knowledge, strengthening understanding and preparing students for their examinations.

Foundation Maths support

I particularly enjoy helping Foundation students work towards their target grades, including those aiming to secure a Grade 4. We focus on essential skills, frequently examined topics and opportunities to gain additional marks.

Exam preparation and technique

Students learn how to break down questions, show their working, use appropriate methods and make the most of the marks available.

Resources and practice

Lessons can incorporate exam-style questions, past papers, revision materials and targeted practice to help students identify areas for improvement.

Confidence and motivation

Progress is about more than a number on a results sheet. I want students to feel more comfortable with their subjects, become more independent learners and approach examinations with greater confidence.

My commitment to students and parents

I understand that parents want to know their child is receiving the right support. My approach combines clear explanations, encouragement, structured learning and a focus on meaningful progress.

I aim to create an environment where students can ask questions without feeling embarrassed, make mistakes without fear and gradually develop the confidence to tackle questions they might previously have avoided.

I celebrate progress, recognise effort and encourage students to keep working towards their goals.

Why choose Revision Room Education?

I combine classroom teaching experience with a practical, approachable tutoring style and a strong belief in the potential of every learner.

I want students to understand that struggling with a subject today does not determine what they can achieve tomorrow. With the right guidance, regular practice and a willingness to learn, progress is possible.

For me, tutoring is about giving students the tools, strategies and confidence to move forward — both academically and personally.
