Hi, my name is Lucas and I'm currently a first year biochemistry student at the University of Birmingham.

Hi, my name is Lucas and I'm currently a first year biochemistry student at the University of Birmingham.
Here is how I like to teach: ideally, the student would inform me the content that he or she would like me to cover beforehand so I could prepare the material and how I would deliver it during the lesson. I would go through the content group by group (one group should range from 20-30 mins) and ask the student a couple of questions after each group. This is to make sure the student understands the content before I move on. In the last five minutes, I would ask multiple questions covering the content in the lesson to ensure the student understands everything. While extra work is not required, it is strongly encouraged to ensure solid understanding. I would prefer to be teaching mostly using slides, this is the way I've been taught and I found it extremely effective.
If the student wants to prepare for exams or tests, I will give the student a couple of past paper questions to complete in their own time so in the next lesson, I will go through the answers and make sure the student could answer all the questions next time the student encounters them. However, I would not dedicate an entire lesson (at most 30 mins) for going through the answers unless I provided the student with a full past paper, which would take longer.
Please give me feedback if possible and be as honest as possible without being disrespectful. This could help me to be a better teacher in the future. :)
