Louise Gill

I am very relaxed and approachable. My teaching approach endeavours to allow the student to develop a passion for the subject. I do this through preparing engaging lessons on current topics in fields such as history, politics, sports, art, music and film. As a proofreader I am, however, meticulous to the nth degree. I firmly believe that the basics need to be mastered in any subject – grammar in language learning is crucial; theory in literature is so important. I believe setting small homework assignments is a great way to compound knowledge. I also feel that celebrating successes is vital to a student enjoying the sessions and believe that each session should end with a little bit of fun revision.

Above all, I am truly passionate about English language, English literature and French/Spanish language and culture. This passion cannot help but shine through in my approach.
