My tuition sessions will be supportive, engaging and tailored entirely to you. I teach students from Year 7 to Year 13 in English Language and English Literature, and I always begin by getting to know how each student learns best, what they enjoy (and what they find tricky), and what their goals are.
Lessons are structured but flexible. We will start with a clear focus for the session, followed by guided practice, discussion and independent work, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions along the way. I use a mix of close reading, discussion, modelling, exam-style practice and creative tasks to keep lessons varied and enjoyable. I aim to make English feel accessible and interesting, even for students who may have lost confidence or motivation.
I have extensive experience teaching across a wide range of ages and abilities, including exam preparation at GCSE and A Level. I’m very familiar with exam boards, mark schemes and how to help students improve their grades in a clear, manageable way. At the same time, I place a strong emphasis on building confidence, curiosity and strong core skills in reading, writing and analysis.
Above all, my sessions are friendly, encouraging and collaborative. I want students to feel comfortable, supported and proud of their progress, while also being challenged to achieve their best.
