Linzi Chen

Hello my name is Linzi and I am a student at Wycombe Abbey. I hold an ARSM diploma with Distinction from ABRSM in both piano and violin and I bring that depth of training into a patient, encouraging teaching style. I teach piano and violin online, welcoming students from complete beginners all the way to Grade 8.

Every lesson is built around you — we'll focus on the pieces and skills you're excited to work on, while I set the base for solid fundamentals which will come in handy down the line. No two students learn the same way, so I keep things adaptable rather than following a rigid script.

Musically, I love variety. I specialise in classical, bringing real depth and precision to repertoire, technique, and interpretation — but I'm just as happy exploring pop pieces if that's what motivates you to pick up your instrument. Mixing styles keeps lessons fresh and helps you develop as a well-rounded musician, not just an exam-passer.

In terms of exams, if you're working towards an ABRSM grade, I offer structured, focused preparation covering repertoire, scales, sight-reading, and aural skills, so you walk into the exam room feeling ready and confident. If you're simply playing for enjoyment, we'll keep things exploratory and relaxed instead.

Scheduling is flexible, including school holidays and weekends, so lessons can fit comfortably around your routine, whatever that looks like.
