I am a bubbly individual so I am full of encouragement, I am patient and understanding, and eager to help students to achieve results they are capable of with a little extra help! I would do practice questions and fun quizzes as a warm up, then move onto whiteboard work to mix it up a bit during the lesson, we could learn songs if that’s what helps students to remember things better and recall knowledge, I’m a massive fan of past papers I believe they are very affective therefor I would definitely use them in all if not almost every lesson, mixing up the questions each time. I would help students make mind maps for things they need to work on and, give them an essay question expecting an essay plan or ruae question to be completed for the next time I see them, if they need that extra push when it comes to a certain subject. When I first meet my students I will ask them what works best for them as everyone works differently, wether they prefer to work creatively and freely or they prefer a more structured straight forward lesson that’s totally up to them to decide. I’m very flexible and as I’ve worked with children before having coaches them in sport I know what to except and how to cater for each child’s abilities and needs. I’m very outgoing myself so no need to worry if the student isn’t as confident as I will be sure to bring them out of their shell and pull their confidence out for the subject they are struggling with!
