Hi, I’m Lilly, and I tutor GCSE English Language and Literature. I create personalised, supportive lessons that build confidence, strengthen writing skills, and help students achieve higher grades in English Language and Literature.
I achieved grade 8s in both English Language and English Literature, and I use my own experience of studying these subjects to help students build confidence, improve their writing, and achieve the grades they want.
My tutoring style is friendly, patient, and fully tailored to each student. I focus on breaking down difficult ideas into simple, clear explanations so that everything finally clicks. Whether a student struggles with analysis, essay structure, creative writing, or revision techniques, I adapt each lesson to suit their pace and learning style.
For English Language, I teach strong exam-focused strategies for papers 1 and 2, including how to analyse unseen texts, structure answers for top marks, and develop effective descriptive and persuasive writing.
For English Literature, I help students master theme analysis, character insights, context, and how to write high-level essays for texts like Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, Jekyll & Hyde, and poetry. I teach students how to build arguments, integrate quotations naturally, and write with clarity and confidence.
My goal is always to make English feel easier, more approachable, and even enjoyable. Many students I’ve supported have improved by at least one to two grades through consistent guidance and practice.
