My lessons are friendly, structured and personalised to each student's needs, ability and goals. As a qualified UK teacher and former Head of Geography, I have three years' classroom experience teaching KS3 and GCSE students, including students with SEND and lower prior attainment.

I begin by finding out what you know already. This helps me to understand and identify the areas you would most like to improve. Lessons might include clear explanations, discussion, questioning, retrieval activities (drawing diagrams, matching keywords to definitions, 'brain dumps', etc), modelling and guided practice, followed by exam-style questions where appropriate.

For Geography, I can support students with physical and human Geography, case studies, geographical skills, fieldwork, extended writing and GCSE exam technique. I focus on helping students understand the subject rather than simply memorising information, so they can apply their knowledge confidently to different questions.

I also have experience running targeted intervention sessions and adapting resources for students with additional learning needs, including dyslexia. I aim to maintain high expectations while providing the scaffolding each student needs to succeed.

For English as a Foreign Language, I have experience teaching a range of ages from 11-year-olds to mature students in Thailand. I offer lessons for beginner to intermediate learners, focusing on practical communication, vocabulary, pronunciation and confidence.

Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My aim is for every student to leave a lesson feeling that they have made progress and have a clearer idea of how to continue improving independently.
