I am a highly experienced Media, Film and TV lecturer with over 20 years in both industry and education, specialising in OCR and AQA A-Level Media Studies, as well as film, marketing and business. I have worked extensively in media production and education, giving me a strong understanding of both the academic and practical sides of the subject.
My lessons are structured, focused and tailored to each student. I begin by identifying gaps in knowledge and exam technique, then build clear, step-by-step strategies to improve grades. A strong emphasis is placed on applying key media theories (such as Hall and Baudrillard), developing analytical writing, and structuring high-level exam responses that reach top band criteria.
Sessions are interactive and practical, using real examples from film, TV and digital media to bring concepts to life. I guide students through how to break down exam questions, plan answers effectively, and write with clarity and confidence under timed conditions.
I also provide support with coursework, NEA and practical production work, helping students with research, planning, analysis and evaluation. This ensures they understand both the creative and academic demands of the subject.
In addition, I can support students studying marketing and business, particularly in areas such as branding, audience, and media industries, helping them apply theory to real-world contexts.
Students leave each session with clear progress, improved confidence, and the tools needed to achieve higher grades. My goal is not just to help students pass, but to help them achieve their full potential with confidence.
