As a Professional 3D Props and Environments Artist, I have worked on productions such as Stranger Things, Wolf King, The Twits and most recently DreamWorks Dogman. I deliver lessons with a studio pipeline in mind, specifically focusing on the modelling stage teaching you the skills you need to recreate any item you want with CGI software, how to use reference images effectively and all the prep work required to make believable assets in any art style!
I'll demo content online via video call using Autodesk Maya which I've used for over 10 years to demonstrate how to make 3D models using Subdivision Modelling (Sub-D) techniques, along with teaching you how to approach any asset, weather it's a set prop, hero asset, vehicle, architecture and what requirements are needed for each asset type for it's shot requirements and to make it studio friendly! This can either be from a pre-determined asset that you've started and want to improve, or based on your artistic goals we can establish what would be the most appropriate build based on your schedule and lesson frequency. I also offer modelling workflows that are useful for 3D models that you're planning to 3D print and any issues that you should be aware of when designing using Autodesk Maya.
Along with hardware skills and modelling principles, I'm also able to provide an insight on what it's like to work in a studio, what soft skills are required and educating what all the departments are and what their purpose is within a VFX or Animation production house.
