Laura Betts

With over eight years of experience in education, I specialise in supporting primary-aged learners across phonics, maths and English. I’m a patient, nurturing teacher who believes every child deserves to feel confident, valued and understood. My sessions are short, focused, and tailored to each learner’s needs, helping children build strong foundations at a pace that feels comfortable and achievable.

I create an inclusive, child-centred environment where learners of all abilities — including those with additional needs — can express themselves freely and feel safe to take risks in their learning. Through clear explanations, gentle encouragement and engaging activities, I support children in developing key skills while also strengthening their independence and self-belief. My goal is always to help each child make meaningful progress and enjoy the process of learning.

In my lessons, children learn in a calm, structured, and encouraging environment where they feel confident to try, explore, and make progress. Each session includes a short warm-up, a clear learning focus, and plenty of interactive activities that help children understand new ideas in a fun, age-appropriate way. I break concepts down into simple steps and use stories, visuals, and hands-on tasks to keep learning engaging. Throughout the lesson, I give gentle, specific feedback to build confidence and celebrate effort. Every child is supported at their own pace, and we always end with a quick recap so parents know exactly what we covered and how their child is growing.
