My lessons are designed for students studying OCR (Cambridge) A-Level Biology and AQA GCSE Biology.

I follow a structured, exam-focused teaching approach. Before attempting exam questions, I make sure students have a secure understanding of the specification content. I use active recall techniques such as targeted questioning, mini quizzes, and blurting to identify gaps in knowledge and reinforce key concepts. Once the content is secure, we move on to extensive past paper practice. Biology is a subject where exam technique is just as important as subject knowledge, so we will analyse mark schemes, focus on the precise terminology examiners are looking for, and learn how to structure answers to maximise marks.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although longer sessions can be arranged during revision periods or in the lead-up to examinations.

I am currently studying Medical Biosciences (Physiology) BSc at the University of Leicester and have nearly two years of tutoring experience, having provided one-to-one GCSE Biology and Chemistry tuition at Caistor Grammar School. My experience has helped me develop a patient, supportive, and organised teaching style that encourages students to build confidence alongside their academic ability.
