Hello!
I grew up in a French-English bilingual context and have studied and worked in both languages. I believe language is learnt and mastered via conversation and trial-and-error, so you can expect my lessons to be a little more conversational-based! I think it's important to become confident and familiar with a language first before focusing on things like grammar, conjugation and spelling as those will come naturally once you know what you want to be able to talk about.
I'm also happy to follow your lead, particularly if you have an examination or diploma that you're studying for.
Whilst this is my first time as an official tutor, I was a tutor in both languages throughout my school years and I also did a bit of freelance translation work when I was a university student. I received the French equivalent of the A-Levels in 2013 with the highest honours and graduated in the top 10% of my cohort at La Sorbonne in 2018.
Lastly, I understand what it feels like to be unable to communicate because of language and I know that it can affect your confidence and can be very frustrating. I'm hoping I can help you with this in particular. I have lived in Paris, Dublin, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, the UK and Tokyo and I loved learning how language adapts to these different linguistic and cultural environments. Language is fluid and is designed to be a tool for YOU to use!
