My lessons are structured, interactive and tailored to the individual learner. I begin by identifying strengths, gaps in knowledge and areas where confidence needs to be developed, then build each session around clear academic goals and the student’s preferred learning style.

I am a qualified teacher (QTS), PhD-trained scientist and experienced private tutor with over 10 years of academic experience. I support learners from pre GCSE through to postgraduate level, including KS3, GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate and postgraduate study. My specialist areas include Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences and related life science subjects, alongside Physics.

Lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice and independent application. I focus on developing genuine understanding rather than relying on memorisation, helping students build the confidence and reasoning skills needed to tackle unfamiliar questions and complex scientific ideas.

For GCSE and A-Level students, sessions can include syllabus-focused teaching, past-paper practice, mark schemes and examination technique. For university and postgraduate students, I can support advanced scientific concepts, data interpretation, academic writing, research methods, critical analysis, literature evaluation and dissertation or project work.

My teaching style is patient, supportive and academically rigorous. I adapt the pace, level of challenge and explanations to each learner, with the aim of developing confidence, independence and secure subject knowledge. Whether the goal is improving exam performance, strengthening foundations or mastering advanced material, each lesson is designed to deliver focused, measurable progress. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explain their reasoning and take an active role in each lesson and future goals.
